Version 1.2 Out Now

Woo! Finally got the new version completed, and approved by Apple. This version contains some nice enhancements:
  • Swipe the screen upwards to choose your mixtape. (Err, playlist.)
  • Shake your iPhone to switch decks.
  • Four new cassette decks, 10 more tape images.
  • Swipe right to skip forward a song, swipe left to go back.
  • Various bug fixes for issues spotted in the ill-fated version 1.1.

Ugh, It's Never Easy

I've had a couple of users mention that the Cassette Deck app doesn't function on their device. Eek! I'm more than happy to give refunds.

(Unfortunately, as an independent developer, it's hard for me to test my apps on every combination of device and OS version. I suspect problems are limited to the iPod Touch, but if anyone can give me details, I will attempt to fix the issues.)

To get a refund, you will need to do the following:

- Open up iTunes.
- Go to Store > View My Account in the top menu.
- Click Purchase History
- Click the Report a Problem link against the entry for Cassette Deck purchase
- Fill out the Problem Report (see screenshot.)

This should allow me to refund you through iTunes. Apologies for any issues encountered.

Yay, Switzerland

Peeking at my sales numbers, I am seeing an inexplicably large number of sales in Switzerland. So I am officially celebrating the Swiss today.

(By the way, Geneva is very pretty. Go visit.)

Re-live the original portable music revolution - the cassette deck!

Turn your iPhone or iPod touch into a cassette player, and get nostalgic over the clunk of a tape ejecting, the squeal of the rewind button, and the whirring of magnetic tape.

Features:
  • Skin your iPod music player, so the tapes change as the songs shuffle.
  • Watch the tape wheels whirr around, as your song plays.
  • Fun retro look: two cassette decks, and ten tape images!
  • Skip to the next song with the eject button, move back or forward with the rewind or fast-forward buttons.
  • Fast skip, by swiping across the screen.

Best enjoyed with music from the 80s. (Shoulder pads not required.)
